  2014-2015 Annual Report

The second AGM of Glenorchy Community Fund (GCF) Ltd was held  on the 16th November 2015. We were delighted that 28 people attended our AGM and the support of those present for the work and achievements of the Fund was extremely gratifying. In presenting the Annual Report, Adriana Taylor, Chair acknowledged the contribution of  our Corporate  Donors- Telstra Business Centre Glenorchy, Blundstone, OneCare, Veolia and Glenview Community Services.

She also acknowledged our other Corporate sponsors including  MONA ,Slick Promotions , Worrall Lawyers and Wise , Lord and Ferguson.

She also noted the importance of our community partnerships with the City of Glenorchy Lions Club, with the Golden Years Club and with Glenorchy Health and Fitness World. These partners conduct fundraising activities on behalf of the Glenorchy Community Fund.

Lastly and importantly Adriana thanked the individuals who either make an annual donation of $100 to the Fund; the 70 or so community members who have a GCF PEE WEE Pig Money box into which they deposit a $2.00 gold coin per week and to the many many volunteers who help us run our  many fund raising activities . Our thanks to SMF who have sponsored the cost of purchasing the PEE WEE Pig Money boxes.

The Glenorchy Community Fund is a real example of  a community working together to help itself !

 Faces of Glenorchy Book

Faces of Glenorchy was a project of the Glenorchy Community Fund and is a snapshot of Glenorchy as it was in 2014, the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Glenorchy as a city and the 150th anniversary of it becoming a municipality.

The aim of the book is to show where we work and play, who looks after us, and how we make a living.

To make this book, a team of volunteer photographers took to the streets, workplaces, schools and recreational areas to capture people going about their daily lives. It captures the beauty, diversity and the spirit of this City and will remain an historic record of Glenorchy into the future as it celebrates such important milestones.

The Glenorchy Community Fund Ltd Board made the decision at the beginning of 2016  to recognise the contribution of volunteers within our city, by  presenting members of community groups and organisations with copies of the Faces book to thank them for the work that they do selflessly for our community of Glenorchy. The Glenorchy Community Fund Chair, Adriana Taylor is attending meetings of these organisations to personally present the books on behalf of the Board.
